Compensation
Our pay/benefits package is highly competitive within the local market; it rates above-average when compared with those of residency programs in this region’s larger cities.
Moreover, our area’s cost of living is comparable to or lower than the cost of living in those cities – Akron, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Detroit.
Salary
- First year
$44,486 with $8,000 educational supplement
- Second year
$48,670 with $6,000 educational supplement
- Third year
$50,720 with $6,000 educational supplement
($2,500 additional for chief resident)
Paid time off
- First year
18 days of vacation
- Second and third years
21 days of vacation
- Sick days
Fifteen per year, if needed. (In accordance with the RRC, a resident may take no more than 30 days away from the residency in an academic year.)

Exam and application reimbursement
Continuing Medical Education:
- PGY 1: Five working days per year with $500 expense allowance
- PGY 2 and 3: Five working days per year with $1,600 expense allowance
Moving cost reimbursement: All reasonable expenses for moving more than 35 miles, up to $2,500
Uniforms
- First year: three clinic coats (laundry service is available)
- Subsequent years: additional coat each year
